About

NTU Indian Dance (NTUID) is a vibrant community that nurtures both budding and experienced dancers, providing a platform to explore and grow in various Indian dance forms. We aim to cultivate versatility by embracing a diverse range of styles, including Indian Folk, Bollywood, and Indian Classical, among others. Open to all NTU students, the club welcomes dancers of all skill levels, from complete beginners to seasoned performers.

For those new to dance, NTUID offers opportunities to train, experiment with different styles, and build confidence. Meanwhile, experienced dancers can deepen their artistic journey by honing their choreography skills and gaining hands-on teaching experience, fostering both creativity and leadership.

Established in 2019, NTUID has rapidly grown into a vibrant and dynamic dance club, driven by a passionate executive committee and home to many talented dancers. Over the years, we have built a strong presence within the NTU community and beyond, gaining widespread support and a growing social media following.

Throughout the academic year, NTUID conducts weekly training sessions, allowing members to refine their skills in various dance styles while offering numerous internal and external performance opportunities.

Within NTU, we frequently collaborate with other student organizations for thematic performances, showcasing our versatility and artistic expression. Some of our notable collaborations include Mind Matters by WSC, CenterStage by CAC, Earth Hour by NTU Earthlink, and Confluence by NTUSU SIC. We have also performed at Arts From The Hearth (AFTH) events by CAC and Heritage Week by NTU Heritage Club.

Our presence at key NTU events has been strong, with performances at Festival of Lights (FOL) in 2022, 2023, and 2024, as well as NTU Fest 2024. NTUID has also taken part in the Joint Dance Concert (JDC) in 2022, 2023, and 2024, representing the rich diversity of Indian dance on a grand stage.

Beyond NTU, NTUID has made its mark on national and international platforms. We were among the top 5 teams in Chingay SG 2021, competed in the prestigious Just Bollywood International Dance Competition organized by Imperial College London, and placed 3rd in Tarang 2024, an inter-university competition. We also had the honor of performing at the MOM ACE Deepavali Event 2024, further expanding our reach and cultural impact.

With each passing year, NTUID continues to grow, push creative boundaries, and bring the vibrancy of Indian dance to wider audiences—both within and beyond NTU. Whether you’re looking to discover a hidden talent, groove to Bollywood beats, or master an Indian dance style, NTUID is the place to explore your artistic potential.

Want to do more than just dance? Join our EXCO and sub-committee! We are always looking for passionate individuals to help spread the legacy of Indian dance. Come be a part of our journey!
